eHarmony is seeking a Web Designer / HTML Programmer to be a strategic creative thinker to partner with the product teams in eHarmony's Publishing line of business.  The Publishing team manages a network of growing content & community sites in Weddings, Parenting, and Dating Advice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for design and implementation of various aspects of our online presence, such as web user interface design, page layouts, promotional landing pages, email campaigns, banner ads (including Flash), and other online components for our services.
• Demonstrates technical knowledge and skills, such as interaction design, user experience, marketing/conversion techniques, tableless HTML and CSS, and cross-browser compatibility, and applies them to eHarmony's business objectives.
• Helps foster an open and productive atmosphere within the Publishing Team.
• Delivers hand-coded tableless HTML and CSS files to Engineering team for development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in graphic design is a must.
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in online design at an agency, studio, internal design department, or contractual work.
• Extensive knowledge of visual design, information design, and interaction design.
• Portfolio must include examples of web or print designs appealing to a predominantly female audience.
• Experience in the Weddings category is a very big plus.
• Strong typography skills are a must.
• Project management skills are critical including adaptability, time management and meeting objectives.
• Must be a self-learner with strong creative problem solving abilities. Candidate must stay current with design trends and new technologies.
• Must be flexible and resilient with the ability to give and take direction from multiple teams within the organization.
• Ability to interact with Senior Management, Marketing, Product Management and other internal teams.
• Candidate must have at least 2-3 years in hand-coding tableless HTML and CSS, as well as HTML for emails.
• Required software and technical knowledge: HTML, CSS, DHTML, and Adobe Creative Suite,
• Desired software and technical knowledge:  Flash, knowledge / understanding of scripting languages like jquery or javascript.
